{"id":1869,"date":"2021-05-31T10:11:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-31T06:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mcmmediahub.aus.edu\/?p=1869"},"modified":"2026-05-11T13:30:06","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T09:30:06","slug":"sharjah-childrens-reading-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdcmediahub.aus.edu\/index.php\/2021\/05\/31\/sharjah-childrens-reading-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharjah Children&#8217;s Reading Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/10Q_EVHyw9D5QzAHRYI9vklEN7EHlM8V2\/preview\" width=\"720\" height=\"394\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Journalism student Sarah Al Saeid reports on the activities at Sharjah Children&#8217;s Reading Festival.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By: Sarah Al Saeid&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SHARJAH \u2013 Under the theme of \u201cFor Your Imagination,\u201d Sharjah Children\u2019s Reading Festival hosted a number of exhibitions, workshops and activities that catered to all age groups.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The activities included Applied Art Workshops, a Comics Exhibition, a Cookery Corner and a Cultural Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Comics Exhibition involved live dance choreographies like \u201cSailors of the Space\u201d and workshops like \u201cComic Book Plot,\u201d \u201cVillain Character Building\u201d and \u201cHow do I Create a Comic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSailors of the Space\u201d is a dance show that is inspired by the manga and anime world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants learned the secrets of comic creation from experts of the entertainment company \u201cComme il Faut,\u201d and Graffiti Artist and Character Designer Spaz.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to SCRF guest details, \u201cSpaz means the loss of mental and physical control that applies on each one of us. Every individual goes through their own \u201cspaz\u201d depending on their daily life circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chefs at the Cookery Corner cooked dishes from all over the world before a live audience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guest Chef Alia Al Qassimi said, \u201cfor me this is an opportunity, not just to cook, but also to teach kids about a new country.
