UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – The Egyptian Cultural Club (ECC) has partnered with The Big Heart Foundation, founded by Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Al Qasimi, to renovate a school in Qena, a governorate in Upper Egypt, according to club President Ali Eldemerdash.

Vice President Omar Matar said the collaboration extends to a foundation-run factory in the same region that exclusively employs women, an uncommon practice locally that supports female employment. The club is selling merchandise designed by the club’s Media Coordinator, Farida Magdy, to fund the project.

Eldemerdash said the club is aiming to support women’s employability in Upper Egypt, adding that proceeds from merchandise sales will help provide children better educational opportunities.

“The goal is ultimately to represent Egypt in the best way possible,” Matar said.

The club’s next event, set for Oct. 6, will mark Egypt’s National Day with performances, a play, games, and booths in the Main Building Rotunda.
