UNIVERSITY CITY, SHARJAH – American University of Sharjah’s School of Business Administration held its annual Meet SBA event Thursday, Sept. 3, introducing incoming students to the school’s departments, majors and student organizations.

The event ran from 11 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. in the College of Business Administration building, giving students a chance to meet faculty, ask questions and connect with clubs. Six student organizations set up themed booths throughout the day, competing for new members with costumes, games and giveaways ranging from gift cards to Funko Pops.

180 Degrees Consulting, billed as the world’s largest student-led consultancy, drew students with a Batman theme and perfume giveaways, promoting its pro bono consulting services. Sponsors included Swiss Arabian, Noon Minutes and Baskin Robbins.

The Finance Executives Club (FiEx) hosted a coin-guessing contest and a Jeopardy game, alongside a pitch competition where students invested in their favorite of three companies.

The Marketing, Operations and Data Analytics Club (MODA) ran a spin-the-wheel game, handing out SBA-customized stickers and offering a 100 AED Amazon gift card as its grand prize, with the help of their sponsors Elephant Cookies and SARM Dates.

The Accounting Society (TAS) leaned into an “The Office” theme, running a trivia game based on the show and raffling off a copy of the video game GTA 6 and a Michael Scott Funko Pop.

The Association for Innovation Management and Strategy (AIMS) went with a movie theme, offering trivia, forehead card games, an emoji riddles game and a “bad plot description” guessing game.

The Dean’s Business Team (DBT) turned its booth into a carnival theme, with a can-stacking game, a guessing game for goodie bags, free ice cream and SBA keychains. Opal Perfume, Respawn Zone, Wingstop and Tealive sponsored the booth, and organizers handed out Wingstop vouchers to visitors.
